Vascular Malformations

We are pleased to offer a comprehensive service in the management of all types of vascular malformations of the brain and spinal cord. There are a wide variety of types of vascular malformations, and they can exist anywhere within the brain or spinal cord. Depending on their location, they can cause a wide variety of signs and symptoms. Typical vascular malformations that we treat include cavernous malformations (cavernous angiomas), arteriovenous malformations, and arteriovenous fistulas, to name a few.

We offer comprehensive treatment strategies for the management of these disorders, including, but not necessarily limited to, conservative management, microsurgical resection, interarterial embolization, or stereotactic radiosurgery. We have much experience in treating these disorders, which has been outlined relatively recently in an article in the Journal of Neurovascular Disorders authored by Dr. Brockmeyer. We feel that it is important that all children with vascular disorders of the brain or spinal cord are seen by a qualified Pediatric Neurosurgeon with experience in these problems. We would be happy to see you upon request.
